Their actual location is determined by the amount of lag you are currently experiencing with the fight. If it's bad, adjust your play accordingly and keep moving!
I understand and agree with removing the snap caused by latency, but dark souls 2 already did that much better than Elden Ring currently does. It was less of a big deal that bs had to be confirmed on both screens, because compared to Elden Ring the actual backstab “grab” animation was much faster, and you could backstab from more angles on
using cursed sword of artorias with a two handed AR of 521 u can backstab overkill these guys doing 790 damage in NG for 2073 souls while wearing averice and silver serpant ring. overkill all 11 and kill the 2 drakes before and on the bridge and the 2 ghosts in the room for 26377 souls per run. i average about 13 runs, 350 000 souls, 50 chunks and 1or 2 slabs per hour
Make sure you have your shield lowered when you attempt a backstab. Shield down, and sometimes it seems to help to let go of the analogue stick right before hitting the button to backstab. Not really, it is still the same. Just get within a certain angle of the enemy's back and press R1.
Ol7yhSG. Backs have quite a big window. You can be slightly to their side and still backstab. Unlocked makes positioning easier. Latency also plays a part. You need to press R1 at their back, but if they stay in place (regardless of direction) you'll still pull them into a backstab. This makes 'face stabbing' a thing.

For this reason I thought parrying backstabs was impossible because if you were in range for a parry, you were in range for a backstab. But apparently this is not true, the active window for a backstab is smaller than the hitbox created by a whiffed backstab. I think this is only possible with low latency though.
Of all the many bosses found in Dark Souls 3, Champion Gundyr can pose one of the biggest challenges due to his relentless attacks that seem to be powered by a near-infinite amount of stamina. He
Press b from a standstill. If you're on PC, you press your roll/backstep button and a split-second later, you flick your left thumbstick in the direction you want to reverse backstep in. If on consoles, you have to buffer up the backstep with an attack first, i.e. attack, while in the attack animation press roll/backstep, wait a moment, then
